Nepal to participate in Eighth World Para Taekwondo Championship

KATHMANDU— Nepal is participating in the Eighth World Para Taekwondo Championship.

A four-member team comprising two players is leaving here tomorrow for Antalya of Turkey to participate in the competition. The championship will take place on February 5 and 6.

Bikram Shrestha will compete in the male singles ‘pumse’, P-30 category, while Palesha Govardan will compete in the women’s under-58 Kg weight ‘K-44’ category. Palesha is the winner of bronze medal in the Fourth Asian Para Taekwondo Championship held in Vietnam.

Included in the team are Ram Chandra Shrestha as the team manager and Kabiraj Negi Lama as the instructor.

PM congratulates Nepali national cricket team

KATHMANDU— Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated Nepali national cricket team for being able to clinch the International T20 series.

PM Oli in a tweet extended best wishes and congratulations saying he was very happy to know Nepal’s win over the UAE by 14 runs in the third match of the series.

Winning T20 series is another landmark success for Nepali cricket, he said, adding, “It is big achievement for Nepal’s cricket. I would like to heartily congratulate entire members of Nepali cricket squad”.
