KATHMANDU — The second match between Nepal and Hong Kong under the World Cricket League Championship (WCLC) which was scheduled to be played Monday has been postponed.
With this, both Nepal and Hong Kong shared one point each while Nepal demoted to Division II. The match was pushed for today after Sunday’s match was cancelled by rain.
Nepal had lost to by 83 runs in the first match against Hong Kong played last Friday.
Nepal lies sixth on the table with nine points from 12 matches while Hong Kong is in 4th on the table with 14 points from as many games.
The top four sides of the championship will play the World Cup Qualifiers while the bottom four sides are relegated to Division II.
Nepal will now play against UAE in the final stage of the championship while it will play in Division II to be orgainsed in Namibia in February, 2018. The top two sides in the competition will reach the World Cup Qualifiers.Follow @gorkhapost
Country marking today as Black Day
KATHMANDU- The country is marking today (December 16) as Black Day to protest the disposition of the first democratically elected government by the late former king Mahendra Shah on December 15, 1960.
Mahendra took charge of the state with the help of the then Royal Nepali Army and formulated the Panchayat System by overthrowing the elected government led by B.P. Koirala and dissolving the parliament.
