World ICC World Cricket League Championship : Match between Nepal and Hong Kong called off

KATHMANDU — The second match between Nepal and Hong Kong under the World Cricket League Championship (WCLC) which was scheduled to be played Monday has been postponed.

With this, both Nepal and Hong Kong shared one point each while Nepal demoted to Division II. The match was pushed for today after Sunday’s match was cancelled by rain.

Nepal had lost to by 83 runs in the first match against Hong Kong played last Friday.

Nepal lies sixth on the table with nine points from 12 matches while Hong Kong is in 4th on the table with 14 points from as many games.

The top four sides of the championship will play the World Cup Qualifiers while the bottom four sides are relegated to Division II.

Nepal will now play against UAE in the final stage of the championship while it will play in Division II to be orgainsed in Namibia in February, 2018. The top two sides in the competition will reach the World Cup Qualifiers.

Girl raped in Mahottari





GAUSHALA — A 13-year-old girl of Aurahi Municipality in Mahottari district has been raped on Sunday evening.

Police Inspector at Gaushala-based Area Police Office, Bhola Bhatta, said that two local youths — Rakesh Sada and Ritik Sada, both 15 years of age — allegedly raped the girl when she had gone to wash utensils at a nearby rivulet.

Police have arrested Ritik while Rakesh has been absconding after the incident.

Meanwhile, necessary investigation into the case is underway, said police.
