KATHAMANDU—plans are ongoing to establish a war museum at Shaktikhor in Kalika Municipality, Chitwan.
The museum would be set up in the third division of the Maoist combatants by collecting the arms and documents used during the decade long people’s war.
Homework has been initiated after the Co-chairperson of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal made an announcement to establish a war museum in Shaktikhor, said Mayor of Kalika Municipality, Khum Narayan Shrestha. According to the Mayor Shrestha, the modalities and the proper site for the museum are under discussions.
However, a province-level industrial estate is being developed in the area. Province Assembly Member Ghanshyam Dahal said that the museum would depict the history of the war along with the weapons and documents used during the period. He said that the museum could be a history of Nepal and a tourist destination.Follow @gorkhapost
Far-West Province has high potential: Minister Bhatta
BAITADI— Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment of Far-West Province Maya Bhatta has said that Far-West Province has high potentials for development.
At an orientation programme for journalists in Baitadi on Saturday, Bhatta said that the Far-West Province has high chance for religious tourism.
