KATHAMANDU—plans are ongoing to establish a war museum at Shaktikhor in Kalika Municipality, Chitwan.
The museum would be set up in the third division of the Maoist combatants by collecting the arms and documents used during the decade long people’s war.
Homework has been initiated after the Co-chairperson of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal made an announcement to establish a war museum in Shaktikhor, said Mayor of Kalika Municipality, Khum Narayan Shrestha. According to the Mayor Shrestha, the modalities and the proper site for the museum are under discussions.
However, a province-level industrial estate is being developed in the area. Province Assembly Member Ghanshyam Dahal said that the museum would depict the history of the war along with the weapons and documents used during the period. He said that the museum could be a history of Nepal and a tourist destination.
Province-3 announces public holiday on Lhosar
HETAUDA— The Province-3 government has decided to grant public holiday on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar.
Issuing a release on Sunday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law announced public holiday in the Province-3 on the occasion of 2855th Sonam Lhosar on February 5 (Tuesday).
The Cabinet meeting on January 23 took the decision to announce public holiday on Lhosar. A grant Lhosar celebration is also to be organised in Province-3 which has the majority of Tamang community people.
The celebration is taking place in province headquarters, Herauda, on February 4 and 5.
