NEW YORK —
US President Barack Obama praised Nepali on behalf of the promulgation of a democratic and inclusive Constitution and expressed his happiness about the achievement.
Obama conveyed his best wishes to Nepali people while receiving Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister Prakashman Singh at a dinner reception hosted by the US President in honor of the world leaders attending the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday.
Obama also expressed his happiness for Nepal’s achievement in promulgating the new Constitution at a peace conference. The world leaders are attending the peace conference, organized by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that the federal democratic republic Constitution was promulgated based on political consensus at the occasion.
He further said that the new statute will be implemented based on political consensus.

Three arrested with tiger hides
KATHMANDU- The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Tuesday arrested three persons in possession of tiger hides.
The CIB said that Man Bahadur Tamang of Shailung Rural Municipality in Dolakha; Lokmaya Gurung of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality in Gorkha district and Amar Singh of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality in Saptari district were arrested from Budhanilkantha in the capital city acting on a tip off about their involvement in smuggling of animals’ hides and skeleton.
All three have been sent to the Division Forests Office, Kathmandu for further actions. According to the Superintendent of Police Sudip Giri, the alleged would be booked as per the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1973 and CITES Convention, 1975.Follow @gorkhapost
