UML to organise mass meeting in Bhairahawa today

BUTWAL — The CPN-UML Lumbini Zonal Committee is organizing a mass meeting here Friday under the ‘people’s constitution among the people’ campaign.

The campaign is aimed for informing the people about the different provisions in the new constitution, and thereby wiping out any misconceptions about it.

According to UML central member and Rupandehi In-charge Lila Giri, UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other senior leaders including General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel and Under Secretary Generals Bishnu Poudel and Ghanashyam Bhusal are scheduled to address the gathering.

The event is taking place at Siddhartha stadium in Bhairahawa. Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to address the mass meeting at around noon, Giri said.

Three arrested with tiger hides





KATHMANDU- The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Tuesday arrested three persons in possession of tiger hides.

The CIB said that Man Bahadur Tamang of Shailung Rural Municipality in Dolakha; Lokmaya Gurung of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality in Gorkha district and Amar Singh of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality in Saptari district were arrested from Budhanilkantha in the capital city acting on a tip off about their involvement in smuggling of animals’ hides and skeleton.

All three have been sent to the Division Forests Office, Kathmandu for further actions. According to the Superintendent of Police Sudip Giri, the alleged would be booked as per the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1973 and CITES Convention, 1975.
