BIRGUNJ — CPN Maoist Coordinator Matrika Yadav charged that the government and the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front were involved in smuggling instead of resolving the ongoing crisis of Tarai-Madhes region due to the agitation.
The UDMF leaders were behind massive smuggling (of fuel and daily essentials) after they sat for dharna to obstruct Nepal-India border in Birgunj, claimed Yadav, who is also the leader of Sanyukta Madhesi Rastriya Andolan Samiti.
Addressing a mass meeting at Ghantaghar area of Birgunj, Yadav said that the both sides are staging a drama though five months have passed since the start of the agitation.
The government and the UDMF polarised the people of Pahad and Madhes respectively, and promoted smuggling and mafiadom in the country, according to him.Follow @gorkhapost
