Two killed in Rasuwa landslide

RASUWA — A landslide at Gosainkunda rural municipality-2, Timure of Rasuwa has claimed at least two lives and injured nine are injured in others on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Kaprola, 22 of Hetauda sub-metropolitan city-11 and 50-year-old Bhim Roka of Bhume rural municipality-9 , Rukum, according to police.

Jagdish Roka of Bhume rural municipality-2, Tekman Budha, 30, Prakash Bhatta, 30, of Krishnapur municipality-1, Deu Bahadur Budha, 29, of Thawang rural municipality-2, Lok Bahadur Gharti Magar, 25, of Ghumkhor rural municipality-10, Surkhet, Jamindra Roka, 29, of Newang rural municipality-2, Rolpa, Kamal Shahi, 30, of Baghcharu municipality-9, Salyan and Manoj Pun, 21, of Khawang rural municipality-2, Rukum and a Chinese national M R Ithyo are injured in the incident.

Mahanawami being observed today

KATHMANDU- Mahanawami, the ninth day of Bada Dashain, is being observed throughout the country.

Since early morning, a large number of devotees visit the temples of goddesses Mahakali, Shri Mahalaxmi and Durga Bhagawati.

On this day, prayers are offered and Durga Saptasati recited at the Shaktipeeths.

Chicken, ducks, goats, sheep and buffaloes are sacrificed and vegetarians offer coconuts, radish, bottle-gourds, etc in the place of animals.
