ITAHARI — At least two persons were killed and 10 other were injured in a road mishap at Sundarharaicha-7 in Morang district this morning.
The deceased have been identified as Uma Niraula, 51, and Shyam Karki, 52, of Bhadrapur-15, in Jhapa district. They died on the way to Biratnagar for treatment. The bodies have been kept at Golden Hospital.
The accident took place when a microbus (Ba 4 Kha 6919) en route to Kathmandu from Jhapa collided with a tree at the roadside after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The injured have been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, Itahari-based Community Hospital and Biratnagar-based Golden Hospital for treatment, according to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Itahari. Maha Astami being observed today
KATHMANDU- Today Maha Astami festival is being observed throughout the country by the Hindus.
On this day, people offer special worship to the goddesses Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Maha Saraswati. They also sacrifice goats and roosters.
People who do not sacrifice animals, offers sacrifices of various vegetables and fruits in place of animals.
Special Durgapuja and prayer ceremonies are held at the Dasain Ghars. People also worship weapons, vehicles and machines.
