Two Indian container trucks set ablaze in Dhading

DHADING — An unidentified group has set ablaze two stalled container trucks at Chalise of Dhunibeshi municipality–6 of Dhading along the Prithvi highway on Sunday morning.

The two 22–wheel trucks with Indian registration number plates — R J 42 GA 5021 and R J 42 GA 0756 — were set ablaze, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ram Bahadur KC of District Police Office.

The arson attack took place at around 3 am. Four dozers were used to pile mud around the trucks to contain the fire from spreading elsewhere.

The fire was doused after fire engines from Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) arrived two hours later. There were no human casualties in the attack.

The arson attack on two trucks parked at the roadside near a settlement, petrol station and a gas industry spread fear among the local residents.

The fire also snapped an electric wire causing a blackout. Authorities have suspected the Biplav-led CPN to be behind the arson attack. The incident has caused a traffic snarl in the area.

NA chair stresses on quality and vocational education

KATHMANDU- Chairman of National Assembly (NA) Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has said that the vocational and quality education were the first priority of the state.

Inaugurating the golden jubilee programme of Pashupati Secondary School of Modi Rural Municipality today, NA chair Timilsina said that technical and quality based education were the foundation of the prosperity of the nation.

On another note, he shared that 339 existing laws will be amended until March 5 and 124 new laws will be enacted.

Similarly, Gandaki Province Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Bikas Lamsal said that the provincial government was urging federal government to declare Pokhara as tourism capital.

Speaking in the same programme, Pakistani ambassador to Nepal Mazhar Javed said that age old ties between Nepal and Pakistan will be further strengthened and partnership would be fostered in the education sector as well.
