Small plane crash lands near Delhi Airport

NEW DELHI — An air ambulance from Patna crash-landed near the airport in Delhi in the wake of losing both its engine. Seven individuals were onboard the plane.

According to reports, the air ambulance – a chartered flight from Patna to Delhi – crash-landed in a field in Kair village in Jaffarpur Kalan at around 2:45 pm.

The seven-seater C-90 Beechking airplane belonging to Trinamool lawmaker KD Singh’s Alchemist Group was remarkably intact after it landed on a field in Najafgarh in the South West part of the Indian capital.

Reports said the plane was forced to crash land because of an engine failure.

“The aircraft landed 6.0 nautical miles short of IGI Airport. Pilot reported failure of both engines. All seven on board are safe,” the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said in a statement.

Bakar-Eid being celebrated





POKHARA — The Muslim people people are celebrating their grand festival, Bakar Eid, with much fanfare today.

The festival which is to be continued for three days from today is also known as ‘Eid-Ul-Juha’. The Muslim community considers this as a festival of devotion.

Ali Miya Literary Foundation, Pokhara Chairperson and religious preacher Hanif Miya informed that the festival marked the beginning with the recitation of Islam scripture Nawaz at Idgaha of Pokhara in the early morning today.

The Muslim people who are almost 10,000 in number in Pokhara alone are marking the festival with much excitement, he added.

The Muslims visit the mosques, offer prayers to Allah, perform the Namaj prayers and exchange greetings each others on the occasion.
