School-level national cricket tournament from Nov 13

KATHMANDU — The school-level national cricket tournament is being held from coming November 13 in Dhangadi.

A total of 12 school teams will be competing in the tournament. They include Little Flower School, Dhangadi, Siddhartha Shishu Sadan, Dhangadi, Sharada secondary school, Dhangadi, Saraswati secondary school, Geta, Caspian Academy Dhangadi, ABC Boarding School Nepalgunj, Kailali Model School, Dhangadi, Wisdom Academy Belauri, Kanchanpur, Little Buddha Academy Mahendranagar, Himalayan White House School, Kathmandu, NIST school Bhaktapur and Mokshada School, Kathmandu.

The winner will bag Rs. 111,111 while the second will walk home with 55,555. The best athlete will win Rs. 10,000 while the best bowler and best batsman will win Rs. 5,000 each, according to information shared at a press meet here today. The tournament runs until November 20.

Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football: Army beats Brigade Boys

KATHMANDU- The departmental team, Nepal Army, beat the Brigade Boys Club in the first match of the seventh round games played today under the Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Championship.

The match was held at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) complex in Lalitpur.

Army edged Brigade Boys, one goal to nil. Tanka Basnet became the star player for the Army as the lone goal he converted Santosh Budhathoki’s pass ball into a goal through a header in the 67th minute which sealed the fate of the match.

Army’s Tek Bahadur Budhathoki was declared the Man of the Match. The Army is in the fourth position in the points table. It has 17 points from seven games. Brigade Boys is in the 11th place with four points from seven games.
