Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Launched in Nepal

KATHMANDU —   Samsung has launched its flagship Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in Nepali markte on Wednesday amid a function held at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Kathmandu. The phones are priced Rs. 88,900 and Rs. 98,900 respectively.

Users purchasing the phone will also get a Ncell SIM and a data pack of 8GB for 8 months(1GB per month).

Samsung’s authorised distrubutor in Nepal, IMS has said that pre-booin for the devices is open for all interested people by paying Rs. 5000 and those will get a free Samsung level box slim and each phone will be insured for 6 months covering thefts and damages.

The Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8inch display and 3000mAh battery while S8 Plus has a 6.2inch display and 3500mAh battery. Both the phones have Exynos 8895 Octa Core CPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage.

Nokia 7 launched in China

BEIJING — HMD Global, has launched Nokia 7, the mid-range smartphone in China, the first Android device from the brand which promises flagship-like features at almost half the price of the Nokia 8.

The Nokia 7 comes with 7000 series aluminium build and sports Corning Gorilla Glass at the back. The company says that the handset’s back uses 3D glass thermoforming technology for casting, and comes with rounded corners.

The all-new Nokia 7 has been launched first in China and will be going on sale starting Tuesday but there’s no word on the availability of the Nokia 7 outside China as of now.

The Nokia 7 comes in two variants: 4GB RAM priced at CNY 2,499 and 6GB RAM at CNY 2,699.  Both the variants have 4K video with Nokia OZO audio technology that supports 360-degree recording. There’s 64GB storage and comes with expandable storage up to 128GB (via microSD card).

The Nokia 7 features 5.2-inch IPS 2.5D display with screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.

The smartphone features the new octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 clocked at 1.8GHz and packs 3000mAh non-removable battery.

It runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat and comes with timely software update promise from the company. HMD Global has also confirmed that the Nokia 7 is Android Oreo-ready.

The Nokia 7 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture lens and dual tone flash. At the front, there’s 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone comes with USB Type-C port and also supports NFC connectivity options. At the back, the handset sports fingerprint scanner.
