KATHMANDU—Finally, province 7 declared its name and capital as Sudurpaschim and Godawari, respectively.
A special panel led by lawmaker Tara Lama Tamang had submitted the proposal for the province’s name and capital.
Out of 53 lawmaker in the province 7, 38 lawmaker from Nepal Communist Party (NCP) had voted in favor of motion while 14-12 from Nepali Congress and two from Rastriya Janata Party (RJPN) – voted against the motion.
Province-3 announces public holiday on Lhosar
HETAUDA— The Province-3 government has decided to grant public holiday on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar.
Issuing a release on Sunday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law announced public holiday in the Province-3 on the occasion of 2855th Sonam Lhosar on February 5 (Tuesday).
The Cabinet meeting on January 23 took the decision to announce public holiday on Lhosar. A grant Lhosar celebration is also to be organised in Province-3 which has the majority of Tamang community people.
The celebration is taking place in province headquarters, Herauda, on February 4 and 5.
