Prohibitory order in Saptari from 9:00 am

SAPTARI — The District Administration Office, Saptari, has announced a prohibitory order in Bhardah, Rupani and Rajbiraj in the district from 9:00 am Wednesday until 6:00 at evening, Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhim Prasad Dhakal said.

The prohibitory order was issued in view of possible clashes following the demonstrations of the cadres of agitating Madhes-centric political parties.

Earlier on Saturday, the situation had turned violent after the security personnel attempted to clear the highway disruption in Bhardah in the district.

Country marking today as Black Day

KATHMANDU- The country is marking today (December 16) as Black Day to protest the disposition of the first democratically elected government by the late former king Mahendra Shah on December 15, 1960.

Mahendra took charge of the state with the help of the then Royal Nepali Army and formulated the Panchayat System by overthrowing the elected government led by B.P. Koirala and dissolving the parliament.

Various programmes are scheduled on the occasion.
