Petrol bomb hurled at truck in Rautahat, driver and asst. driver injured

RAUTAHAT — Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist cadres have hurled a petrol bomb at a loaded truck in Rautahat on Thursday, leaving its driver and assistant driver injured.

The protesters have hurled a petrol bomb at a truck (Na 6 Kha 4615) heading towards Kathmandu from Mirchaiya of Siraha carrying mangoes.

Driver Balram Bhandari,35, of Chandrapur-12 sustained minor wounds while assistant driver Basanta Magar,22, of Mithila Municipality-4 has been critically injured in the incident, According to DSP Manoj Kumar Yadav.

The truck was making a beeline for Kathmandu from Mirchiya when the incident took place at a jungle between Chandrapur and Paurahi of Rautahat along the East-West Highway at around 5 am, DSP Yadav said.

Critically injured Bhandari is receiving treatment at the Chandranigahapur Hospital, police said.

PM congratulates Nepali national cricket team





KATHMANDU— Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated Nepali national cricket team for being able to clinch the International T20 series.

PM Oli in a tweet extended best wishes and congratulations saying he was very happy to know Nepal’s win over the UAE by 14 runs in the third match of the series.

Winning T20 series is another landmark success for Nepali cricket, he said, adding, “It is big achievement for Nepal’s cricket. I would like to heartily congratulate entire members of Nepali cricket squad”.
