Patient dies in ambulance as it gets stuck in traffic

DHADING — A 55-year-old woman died in ambulance along the Tribhuvan Highway as the ambulance that was ferrying her to Kathmandu from Bharatpur, Chitwan was stucked in traffic on Wednesday.

Rajani Chaudhary, who was referred to Kathmandu for treatment, was stuck in traffic overnight along the Naubise Naghdhunga road section and died at around 10:00 am, according to police.

The vehicles plying on the highway take more than 10 hours to cover a 25-km-stretch along the road section due to ongoing road renovation.

Three metric tonnes trash removed from river

KATHMANDU- Three metric tonnes of garbage was removed from the river today as part of the ongoing campaign of cleaning the Manohara and Hanumante rivers even during the festival period. 

Today marks the 84th week of the Manohara River Cleaning Campaign and the 34th week of the Hanumante River Cleaning Campaign. The areas around the tri-junction of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur were cleaned.

The river cleaning today was done in tribute to Ram Keshar Bogati to commemorate the 12th day of his death. Bogati was the president of the Nepal Film Board and the advisor of Tripura Sangam Samaj and Hanumante River Cleaning Campaign. 

Some 200 people including lawmaker and CPN leader Mahesh Basnet, government secretary Dinesh Thapaliya, representatives of various community organizations and NGOs as well as army and police personnel took part in the river cleaning works today.
