One held for human trafficking

RAJBIRAJ — The police in Saptari have arrested a 47-year-old man on charges of human trafficking.

Yaswant Singh of Rajbiraj Municipality – 4 is accused of selling a woman of Bathnaha VDC of Saptari with ‘Yadav’ surname in Darbhanga of India on February 15, 2015.

Singh is a nephew of Nepal Sadbhawna Party founding Chairman, late Gajendra Narayan Singh.

The victim’s kin had filed a case at the District Police Office and the Appellate Court Rajbiraj on March 9, 2015 on basis of which Singh was arrested, Saptari’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dan Bahadur Karki said.

Police have launched further investigation against Singh, according to the District Police Office, Saptari.

First Roland Macaulay Cup to start on November 21

BIRATNAGAR— The First Roland Macaulay Cup is being held in the capital on November 21-24.

To be organized by the Cricket Association of the Blind, Nepal, cricket clubs–Myagdi, Jhapa, Bardiya and Tribhuvan Army–will participate in the First Roland Macaulay Cup twenty20 cricket tournament, said Pawan Ghimire, the Central President of the Association at a press conference here.

The estimated budget is approximately Rs 750,000. The opening match will be held between Jhapa and Bardiya, said the organizer.
