JANAKPUR — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stressed the need to revolutionize and modernize the agriculture sector in Province 2.
Addressing the the provincial assembly of Province 2 in Janakpur on Saturday, PM Oli said that doing so would help to increase production by as much as four times.
On the occasion, PM Oli said that he is committed to develop Tarai region of Nepal.
He also expressed the federal government’s commitment to bring necessary changes and support the provincial government to meet its goals and urged provincial ministers and parliamentarians to put forward favorable plans and policies to modernize agriculture, one of the major sources of employment in the country.
PM Oli said that a ship that will leave from Nepal to Kolkata of India will be operated from Province 2 He further said that the ship will be operated from three rivers of Nepal soon.
He further said that the Postal Highway will be completed within the next five years. Stating that he has a good relationship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM Oli said that the relationship between two countries would be strengthened further.
Oli also highlighted the benefits of cross border connectivity through trains and highways that would help to strengthen trade relationships with both the neighbors while increasing people-to-people relationship.
As soon as the meeting began at Province Assembly, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) lawmakers Bisheshwor Prasad Yadav, Upendra Mahato and Gauri Narayan Sah boycotted the meeting and walked out of the hall.Follow @gorkhapost
Mahanawami being observed today
KATHMANDU- Mahanawami, the ninth day of Bada Dashain, is being observed throughout the country.
Since early morning, a large number of devotees visit the temples of goddesses Mahakali, Shri Mahalaxmi and Durga Bhagawati.
On this day, prayers are offered and Durga Saptasati recited at the Shaktipeeths.
Chicken, ducks, goats, sheep and buffaloes are sacrificed and vegetarians offer coconuts, radish, bottle-gourds, etc in the place of animals.
