Nepal Police operates free bus service in Valley in view of chakkajam

KATHMANDU — Nepal Police is operating free bus service in two routes inside the Kathmandu valley till 5 pm on Thursday in view of chakkajam (transport strike).

The Police, through a post on their official facebook page, announced the free bus service along with the list of two routes.

The first route, which the Nepal Police operating free bus service, is Naxal-Jaya Nepal-Putalisadak-Maitighar-Thapathali-Pulchok-Jawlakhel-Ekantakuna-Balkhu-Kalanki-Rabibhawan-Kalanki-Tripureshwor-Nagesthan-New Road Gate-Jamal-Mahendra Salik-Durbarmarga and back to Naxal.

Similarly, The second route will also start its service from Naxal and head towards Lhotse Chwok, Gyaneshwor, Ratopul, Gaushala, Airport, Sinamangal, Koteshwor, Tinkune, New Baneshwor, Maitighar, Thapathali, Tripureshwor, Nagesthan, New Road door, Jamal, Lainchaur, Lazimpat, Talim Kendra, Narayan Gopal Chowk and back to Talim Kendra, Baluwatar and Naxal.

All public vehicles are off the road since early morning and some cases of vandalism have also been reported in Kathmandu due to a strike called by transport entrepreneurs on Thursday against the government decision to hike fines for traffic rule violations.

Govt to present its policies and programmes Monday

KATHMANDU — The government is preparing to present its policies and programs for the fiscal year 2018/19 at the Federal Parliament on Monday.

According to Joint Spokesperson at the Federal Parliament Secretariat Keshav Aryal, all preparations are over for the release of the government policies and programs to be made by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari from New Baneshwor-based Federal Parliament Building at 4:00 pm Monday.

President Bhandari would unveil the government policies and programs for the first time in the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament after the promulgation of the new constitution.

As per the constitution, the President can address any of the House meeting or the joint meeting of the Federal Parliaments and summon the lawmakers for their presence.

Vice President, top leaders of different political parties, high-ranking government officials, chiefs of the constitutional bodies, chiefs of the security bodies and chiefs of the diplomatic missions in Nepal are invited for the program.
