KATHMANDU— Nepal will face Maldives at 3 pm today in the opening match under the SAFF U-15 Championship 2018 at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.
Nepal’s head coach Sanoj Shrestha said that the Nepali team is all ready for the competition. “Preparations are all underway. The players are in good form. We have high hope to become a champion,” he said.
Nepal is placed in Group ‘A’ alongside Bangladesh and Maldives, while India, Bhutan and Pakistan are in Group ‘B’. Nepal will play its second match against Bangladesh on coming Saturday.
The Nepali team includes goalkeeper Roshan Nepal, Rohan Magar, Binaya Shrestha, Jan Limbu, Niwas Phuyal, Pramesh Gurung, Roshan Thapa, Srijan Dani, Rojit Pariyar, Sushil Adhikari, Pradip Lamsal, Managya Nakarmi, Dipesh Gurung, Prabin Magar, Rakesh BK, Shashanka Bohara, Nirajan Malla, Dhiraj Balayar, Namas Thapa, Sonam Gurung, Rohit Subba, Dipesh Rai and head coach Sanoj.
The championship will conclude on November 3.
PM congratulates Nepali national cricket team
KATHMANDU— Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated Nepali national cricket team for being able to clinch the International T20 series.
PM Oli in a tweet extended best wishes and congratulations saying he was very happy to know Nepal’s win over the UAE by 14 runs in the third match of the series.
Winning T20 series is another landmark success for Nepali cricket, he said, adding, “It is big achievement for Nepal’s cricket. I would like to heartily congratulate entire members of Nepali cricket squad”.
