NC General Koirala Secy hospitalized

KATHMANDU — General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Dr. Shashanka Koirala has been admitted to Chabahil-based Om hospital on Wednesday.

The 58-year-old leader was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit after suffering form abdominal discomfort and respiratory problems.

Koirala had vomited several times last night and his blood pressure was 110/70 and saturation peripheral oxygen recorded 98%, according the statement released by OM Hospital.

A team of 15 doctors is involved in the treatment of the medical doctor-turned political leader’s treatment.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Congress senior leaders, including party’s President Sher Bahadur Deuba, visited the hospital to acquire information about Koirala’s condition this morning.

It has been learnt that, NC President Deuba proposed Koirala be flown to New Delhi in an air ambulance. Doctors, however, declined Deuba’s proposal saying that Koirala’s health condition was not stable enough for him to be flown to Delhi.

One killed, two injured in jeep accident





BAJURA— A jeep driver lost his life while two passengers sustained injuries in a jeep accident at Budhiganga Municipality in Bajura on Thursday.

The jeep (Se 1 Ja 543) en route to Martadi from Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality met accident after the jeep lost balance and fell some 100 meters off the road.

According to the Bajura District Police Office, driver Dhan Bahadur Saud, 40, of Tribeni Municipality died on the spot while Saud’s son Nawaraj, 22, and Kumbha Budha of Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality were injured in the incident.

The injured are receiving treatment at Bayalpata Hospital, Achham.
