NC 13th Convention : Vote counting for remaining posts to begin at 1:30 pm

KATHMANDU — The vote counting of Central Working Committee members including general secretary and treasurer under the Nepali Congress thirteenth National Convention election is set to begin at 1:30 pm on Tuesday.

As per NC Election Commission member Gopal Krishna Ghimire, the vote counting will take place at party central office Sanepa.

The vote count of the party president was held at the National Assembly hall in the capital on Monday.

Party senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba got elected NC President securing 1,822 votes against his close contender NC Acting President Ram Chandra Poudel’s 1,296 votes.

Girl raped in Mahottari

GAUSHALA — A 13-year-old girl of Aurahi Municipality in Mahottari district has been raped on Sunday evening.

Police Inspector at Gaushala-based Area Police Office, Bhola Bhatta, said that two local youths — Rakesh Sada and Ritik Sada, both 15 years of age — allegedly raped the girl when she had gone to wash utensils at a nearby rivulet.

Police have arrested Ritik while Rakesh has been absconding after the incident.

Meanwhile, necessary investigation into the case is underway, said police.
