Naya Shakti, Federal Socialist Forum to merge soon

KATHMANDU — Naya Shakti Nepal (NSN) party and Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal (SSFN) have reached an agreement for party unification, according to a press statement jointly issued by the two parties on Thursday.

The parties have formed a Party Unification Coordination Committee (PUCC) to expedite the unification process that comprises NSN coordinator Baburam Bhattarai, SSFN Chaorman Upendra Yadav and SSFN senior leader Ashok Rai.

“Party Unification Coordination Committee (PUCC) has been reached to take the unification process to a conclusion”, reads the press release jointly signed by the chiefs of the two parties.

Both the parties have also urged the government to create an environment for the elections by addressing the demands put forth by the Sanghiya Gathabandhan, UNited Democratic Madhesi Front and 68-party joint struggle committee.

Dozens of children without birth certificates admitted to schools





MAHOTTARI — Dozens of children unable to join schools due to lack of birth certificates have been admitted to community schools under recommendation of the Gaushala municipality here.

88 children of school going age from the Dalit settlements in ward no 4 and 10 were enrolled at the community schools on Sunday.

According to source individual, Deepak Baral, 41 children from Musahar community of Bharatpurkhor in Gaushala – 10 were admitted to Janata Secondary School while 47 children from Birta in Gaushala – 4 were admitted to the National Elementary School.

Gaushala municipality’s Mayor, Shivanath Mahato, said everything will be done to get such children admitted to the community schools. There are a total of 32 community schools in Gaushala municipality.
