JANAKPUR – Police on Tuesday arrested the alleged mastermind of media entrepreneur Arun Singhaniya’s murder, six years after the incident.
Singhaniya, who was shot dead on 1 March 2010, was publisher of Janakpur-based newspaper Janakpur Today and owner of Radio Today.
Police arrested Chandra Pradeep Yadav alongside his girlfriend from Dhanusha district last night.
Yadav had been operating criminal activities in Nepal from India since long time, according to police.
Gunmen had shot Singhaniya three times at point-blank range close to his residence in Janakpur in 2010.
PM congratulates Nepali national cricket team
KATHMANDU— Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated Nepali national cricket team for being able to clinch the International T20 series.
PM Oli in a tweet extended best wishes and congratulations saying he was very happy to know Nepal’s win over the UAE by 14 runs in the third match of the series.
Winning T20 series is another landmark success for Nepali cricket, he said, adding, “It is big achievement for Nepal’s cricket. I would like to heartily congratulate entire members of Nepali cricket squad”.
