KATHMANDU — CPN (Maoist Centre) ministers have tendered their resignation to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba en masse on Friday.
Minister without portfolio Girirajmani Pokharel submitted the resignation of all the ministers from the CPN (MC) to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba after today’s cabinet meeting.
Delayed National Assembly election including other activities by the incumbent government were cited as the reasons for the mass resignation.
Their resignation comes almost three months after PM Deuba stripped of their responsibilities protesting the party’s electoral alliance with the CPN-UML in the recently held federal and provincial assembly elections.
On October 17, Prime Minister Deuba had stripped 16 ministers, including seven state ministers, from the Maoist Centre of their responsibilities. But they continue their tenure without portfolio.Follow @gorkhapost
