NUWAKOT — A man of Dandagaun village in Uttargaya Rural Municipality-2, Rasuwa, was found dead in Nuwakot district 40 days after he went missing.
The dead body of Chokta Tamang was recovered from Trishuli Hydropower Dam of the Trishuli River in Bidur Municipality-7, Nuwakot.
Police Inspector Lal Babu Shah confirmed that Tamang’s dead body was recovered on Tuesday exactly 40 days after he was missing.
Tamang, 57, had gone missing on his way to a water mill (Ghatta) to grind maize in the village. Reasons behind his death are awaited.Follow @gorkhapost
Maha Astami being observed today
KATHMANDU- Today Maha Astami festival is being observed throughout the country by the Hindus.
On this day, people offer special worship to the goddesses Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Maha Saraswati. They also sacrifice goats and roosters.
People who do not sacrifice animals, offers sacrifices of various vegetables and fruits in place of animals.
Special Durgapuja and prayer ceremonies are held at the Dasain Ghars. People also worship weapons, vehicles and machines.
