Man arrested for murdering two minor sons

KATHMANDU — A man has been arrested on charge of brutally murdering his two minor sons at a rented room in Shantinagar scatters settlement, KMC–31 recently, acording to police.

A special force of MCD apprehended the suspect, identified as Dilip Kumar Yadav (24) of Gamarahiya in Siraha Municipality-13 in the district, from Madar Chowk the Municipality on April 28.

The police identified the deceased as 8-year-old boy Sushil Sardar and his 6-year-old brother Sujal. According to police the minors were strangled to death on April 22. However, Police recovered their bodies on April 27.

Yadav was living with Samjhana Sundar Sardar and her two sons from previous marriage for a year, in Kathmandu before falling out in their relations.

According to police, Samjhana decided to live Yadav fter he misbehaved her sons, and had gone to Biratnagar in search of works. Yadav was urging Samjhana to return to Kathmandu since a month threatening to take away lives of her sons if she did not comply.

Police said they have sent the suspect to Metropolitan Police Circle New Baneshwor for further investigation.

2 killed, 5 injured in tractor accident

HETAUDA — Two persons were killed and five others were seriously injured after a tractor fell off the road last evening at Panchpandav village in Bagmati Rural Municipality-4, Makawanpur.

Police said that 50-year-olds Hem Kumar Shrestha and Bakhat Rai of Hariharpur Rural Municipality in Sindhuli district lost their lives in the fatal accident.

Shrestha died on the spot while Rai breathed his last on the way to a hospital in Hetauda, police added. The tractor (Na 6 Ta 442) was heading to Sindhuli district from Phawarbari in Makawanpur by supplying construction materials.

Those seriously hurt in the incident are Shivamaya Magar, Shakti Rai, Mohan Rai, Krishna Rai and Tilak Rai. The incident site is near Makawanpur-Sindhuli border along Dharan-Chatara road section.
