KATHMANDU — A local struggle committee has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli demanding reconstruction of earthquake-devastated Dharahara on Thursday.
The committee with the motto ‘Save our National Heritage, Rebuild Dharahara’ submitted the memorandum to the PM with signatures.
Struggle Committee Coordinator Bed Prakash Gautam said that the memorandum was submitted to remind the government about rebuilding Dharahara.
The memo was submitted to the PM though his personal secretary Yubaraj Dahal. The document stated that construction of any commercial building in the surroundings of Dharahara should not be carried out and the site should be developed as a tourist spot.
The committee had collected signatures during March 21-23 demanding immediate action for Dharahara reconstruction.Follow @gorkhapost
Govt forms 5-member committee to probe Khursid’s murder
KATHMANDU — The government has formed a 5-member committee led by an SSP Kishor Dahal to investigate into the murder of Khursid Ansari,the operator and principal of Raiyab Boarding School at Harinagar, Sunsari.
Other members include SP Ramesh Kumar Thamsu (APF), Tulsi Prasai (Deputy Director, National Investigation Department) Rabindra Acharya (under-secretary, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law) and Rajan Pandey, administrative officer of Sunsari.
The team will be required to present its report on the case within 15 days.
