Left alliance clean-sweep in Dhading

DHADING — Left Alliance of CPN-UML and CPN(Maoist Center) has made clean-sweep in Dhading. Left alliance has made a victory in all the constituencies for the House of Representatives and four in Provincial Assemblies in the district.

CPN-UML candidate Bhumi Tripathi has won in Dhading-1, by securing 49121 votes while his rival candidate from Nepali Congress, Bishwo Arayal obtained 21968 votes.

Likewise, Khem Prasad Lohani has won in Dhading-2 with 36253 votes while his rival candidate from Dilman Pakhrin from NC obtained 35614 votes.

In Provincial Assembly, 1 ‘A’ Rajendra Prasad Pandey from CPN-UML elected with 27332 votes, while his rival Madhu Kumar Shrestha 13685 votes.

Likewise, in 1 ‘B’ Shalik Ram Jamerkattel from Maoist Center has secured 33382 votes and his closest rival Prabhat Kiran Subedi from NC obtained 10407 votes.

In province 2 ‘A’ Ram Kumar Adhikari from UML has secured 20363 votes and his rival candidate from Nc Ramesh Dhamal obtained 19015 votes.

And, in 2 ‘B’ Jagat Simkhada from Maoist Center has obtained 17605 votes where his rival candidate from Rastriya Prajatanta Party secured 15774 votes.

Country marking today as Black Day

KATHMANDU- The country is marking today (December 16) as Black Day to protest the disposition of the first democratically elected government by the late former king Mahendra Shah on December 15, 1960.

Mahendra took charge of the state with the help of the then Royal Nepali Army and formulated the Panchayat System by overthrowing the elected government led by B.P. Koirala and dissolving the parliament.

Various programmes are scheduled on the occasion.
