KMC to offer civic felicitation to Indian PM on May 12

KATHMANDU — The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is to offer civic felicitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 12 who is arriving Nepal on a State Visit on May 11.

Speaking to RSS, KMC joint-spokesman Nawaraj Dhakal said that KMC is making preparations to offer a civic reception to the Indian dignitary at 2.45 pm on May 12.

According to Dhakal, KMC mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya will present an artistic key to the metropolis to Indain Prime Minister before the civic felicitation.

Handing over the key to the metropolis to a visiting dignitary is to give the message that the metropolis is open to the VIP guest.

NA chair stresses on quality and vocational education

KATHMANDU- Chairman of National Assembly (NA) Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has said that the vocational and quality education were the first priority of the state.

Inaugurating the golden jubilee programme of Pashupati Secondary School of Modi Rural Municipality today, NA chair Timilsina said that technical and quality based education were the foundation of the prosperity of the nation.

On another note, he shared that 339 existing laws will be amended until March 5 and 124 new laws will be enacted.

Similarly, Gandaki Province Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Bikas Lamsal said that the provincial government was urging federal government to declare Pokhara as tourism capital.

Speaking in the same programme, Pakistani ambassador to Nepal Mazhar Javed said that age old ties between Nepal and Pakistan will be further strengthened and partnership would be fostered in the education sector as well.
