LOS ANGELES — Actress Kelly Clarkson gave a befitting reply to a body shamer on Twitter who called her fat during the Fourth of July festivities.
The “Piece by Piece” singer responded after someone tweeted at her, “You’re fat.”
Clarkson,35, who has made it clear she doesn’t care what people think about her weight, wrote: “… And still f***ing awesome.”
Fans who saw the interaction praised Clarkson and took to Twitter to celebrate her straightforward and confident response with memes, reports people.com.
This isn’t the first time the singer and mother of two has dealt with comments about her weight. In 2015, she responded to criticism over weight gain, telling chat show host Ellen DeGeneres that she has been at the receiving end of derogatory comments for years.
“I love how people think that’s new – like, ‘Welcome to the past 13 years,’” she said.
“Yeah, I was the biggest girl on (‘American Idol’), too. And I wasn’t big, but people would call me big because I was the biggest one on ‘… Idol’, and I’ve kind of always gotten that,” she added.
Despite people’s negativity, Clarkson said she wouldn’t be bothered by what other people thought or said.
“It’s like, you’re just who you are. We are who we are. Whatever size, and it doesn’t mean that we’re gonna be that forever,” she said.
“That’s the thing. Sometimes we’re more fit. Like especially me, I’m such a creative person that I yo-yo. So, sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don’t, and I’m like… I’d rather have wine,” added Clarkson.Follow @gorkhapost
Ed Sheeran engaged to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn
LONDON — British Ed Sheeran has become engaged to his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter announced on his Instagram page on Saturday. The proposal took place last month.
“Got myself a fiance just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well,” he told his 18 million followers on Instagram.
Sheeran is one of the best-selling artists in the world and his latest album ‘Divide’ smashed Spotify records, drawing 57 million listens on the first day of its release — nearly twice the previous highest.
Sheeran and Seaborn, who are childhood friends, have reportedly been dating since 2015.
“It’s awesome meeting famous people. But that’s not life. That’s not reality. One day this will end,” he told The Sunday Times newspaper last year.
“And I know the one person that’s going to remain constant is Cherry.”
After several years of playing on the street and in bars, Sheeran won breakthrough international success with his 2014 love ballad ‘Thinking Out Loud’.
According to the BBC, Sheeran and Seaborn, 24, met in high school in their native UK and have been dating for about three years. She attended Duke University in North Carolina, where she also played hockey. She later helped England’s U21 team win a bronze medal at the 2012 European Championships.
