KATHMANDU — Nepal have defeated United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 4 wickets in their third match of the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 underway at Windhoek, Namibia on Sunday.
Skipper Paras Khadka’s whirlwind half-century and spearhead Sompal Kami’s four wicket scalps propelled Nepal to seal convincing victory over UAE during the ongoing ICC WCLD II. Nepal achieved the target in the 29th over.
With today’s emphatic victory over UAE, Nepal register two victories out of three matches of the ICC World Cricket League Division II played at Windhoek, Namibia, on Sunday.
Skipper Parash Khadka played a blistering innings of 51 runs off just 48 balls, studded with two cracking fours and five sixes.
After winning the toss, UAE was invited to take the first strike before folding them for a meagre 114 runs in 31 overs.
Shaiman Anwar top scored for UAE with 30 runs in 64 balls which included two hit to the fence.
Sompal Kami was pick of the bowlers with 7-0-30-4. Leg spin bowler Sandeep Lamichanne took three UAE scalps where as Khadka bagged two wickets.Follow @gorkhapost
Finance Committee meeting deferred until 1 pm today
KATHMANDU— The meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives that was scheduled at 9 am today has been postponed until 1 pm.
The meeting was put off for lack of a quorum, said Chairperson of committee Krishna Prasad Dahal. Until 9:30 am, only nine members of the 25-member committee were present in the meeting.
Issues relating to capital expenditures and non-budgetary release of fund were scheduled for discussion in the meeting.Follow @gorkhapost
