Ghumfir Barsa 2073 formally launched

KATHMANDU — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has formally launched Ghumphir Barsa 2073(travel year 2016-2017) on Monday, encouraging domestic and international voyagers to explore Nepal without hesitation.

Addressing the inauguration function of the campaign, he also urged foreign investors to take full advantage of Nepal’s enormous potential and opportunities to invest.

“It’s safe to travel and invest in Nepal. Nepal offers a good investment climate and I urge investors to put their money here. There have been lots of rumors about lack of safety and the investment climate in Nepal, but that is not the case. Hence, I urge foreigners not to run after rumors.” he said.

PM Oli also said that the earthquake had partially damaged places of historic and archaeological importance, and urged visitors to fully take advantage of these important sites.

The government has announced Ghumphir Barsa 2073 in a bid to revitalize the country’s flagging tourism industry and to promote domestic tourism is the first of its kind. It is also part of the preparations to declare 2017-18 as International Tourism Year.

Far-West Province has high potential: Minister Bhatta





BAITADI— Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment of Far-West Province Maya Bhatta has said that Far-West Province has high potentials for development.

At an orientation programme for journalists in Baitadi on Saturday, Bhatta said that the Far-West Province has high chance for religious tourism.

On the occasion, Province Minister Bhatta feted Far-West Provincial Chairman of National Association of Tourism Journalists (NATOJ) Amar Raj Bhattarai and newly-elected Chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Baitadi chapter Mahesh Prasad Awasthi.
