Gautam rules out likelihood of govt change

KASKI — CPN-UML Vice Chair and former Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam has ruled out the possibility of the new government at present.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the Press Chautari Nepal here this morning, the Vice Chair of the major ruling party claimed the government would not change immediately.

In a response to journalists’ query, he said his party was effortful to form a national unity government under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister. Otherwise, options for an appropriate leadership are considered.

Finance Committee meeting deferred until 1 pm today

KATHMANDU— The meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives that was scheduled at 9 am today has been postponed until 1 pm.

The meeting was put off for lack of a quorum, said Chairperson of committee Krishna Prasad Dahal. Until 9:30 am, only nine members of the 25-member committee were present in the meeting.

Issues relating to capital expenditures and non-budgetary release of fund were scheduled for discussion in the meeting.
