BERLIN — A car bomb killed a driver going down a road in central Berlin on Tuesday, police said.
The vehicle blasted and flipped into the air as it was driven along a street in the centralpoint of the German capital early on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place during peak-hour traffic on Bismarckstrasse, within sight of the Victory Column monument, leaving the front of the car severely dented after it flipped over, while debris was strewn a few metres away.
Police tweeted photos of the destruction of the silver Volkswagen in the city with its windows smothered.
According to reports, the blast was caused by an explosive device ‘on or in the vehicle’.
