LONDON — A new study has found that drinking moderate amounts of coffee may have a bigger number of advantages than risks in grown-ups.
As per the findings, published in the journal Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, moderate drinking of coffee (3-4 cups per day) essentially has a neutral effect on health, or can be mildly beneficial.
Researchers from Ulster University in the UK analysed a total of 1,277 studies from 1970 till date which were based on effect of coffee on human health.
Researchers found that the potential benefits of moderate coffee drinking outweighed the risks in adult consumers for the majority of major health outcomes considered.
The review was used to create a list of the potential health benefits and risks of coffee consumption on total mortality, cardiovascular disease, cancer, metabolic health, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal conditions and other miscellaneous health results.
