Couple found murdered in Bara

BARA — A cow farmer couple was murdered on Friday night at Jitpur-Simara sub metropolitan Bara.

Those deceased have been identified as Dipak Subedi (36) and his wife, Deepa Subedi (32), according to police.

“Dipak’s body was found covered in haystack while the wife’s body was inside home,” Rajkumar Baidyar, SP at Bara Police Office said. Police have also recovered hammers, rods and bamboo sticks at the crime scene.

Police have started the search for the assailant.

Country marking today as Black Day

KATHMANDU- The country is marking today (December 16) as Black Day to protest the disposition of the first democratically elected government by the late former king Mahendra Shah on December 15, 1960.

Mahendra took charge of the state with the help of the then Royal Nepali Army and formulated the Panchayat System by overthrowing the elected government led by B.P. Koirala and dissolving the parliament.

Various programmes are scheduled on the occasion.
