KATHMANDU — A Central Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress summoned for today has been called off. The party has cited a special reason behind the postponement of meeting that was called for 8:30 am.

The meeting has been rescheduled for 2:00 pm on May 4, according to NC central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

NC President Deuba was preparing to propose names for the office bearers at the CC meeting today 26 months after the 13th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.

It is believed that the meeting was adjourned by few days due to dissatisfaction of the party factions close to senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and former party general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

Both factions earlier announced to boycott the meeting, accusing the party leadership of calling the meeting without discussions.

The NC is yet to nominate party office bearers although two years have already elapsed since the completion of the party general convention. As per the party statute, it should have been done within two months after the general convention.
