Congress CEC to endorse PP statute

KATHMANDU — The Nepali Congress Central Executive Committee is to endorse the ‘NC parliamentary party statute, 2074’ at its meeting to be held at the party’s central office Sunday.

The endorsement of the statute will also see the beginning of the process to elect the parliamentary party leader, NC spokesperson Biswa Prakash Sharma said.

The statute was unanimously approved by a joint meeting Saturday of the NC members of parliament in the House of Representatives and National Assembly.

As per the schedule, the meeting today will also constitute the election committee and designate the date for the election.

Matters relating to other contemporary political issues will also be discussed at the meeting, spokesperson Sharma said.

Three arrested with tiger hides

KATHMANDU- The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Tuesday arrested three persons in possession of tiger hides.

The CIB said that Man Bahadur Tamang of Shailung Rural Municipality in Dolakha; Lokmaya Gurung of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality in Gorkha district and Amar Singh of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality in Saptari district were arrested from Budhanilkantha in the capital city acting on a tip off about their involvement in smuggling of animals’ hides and skeleton.

All three have been sent to the Division Forests Office, Kathmandu for further actions. According to the Superintendent of Police Sudip Giri, the alleged would be booked as per the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1973 and CITES Convention, 1975.
