Chris Brown being investigated for battery and theft

Gorkha Post

LOS ANGELES — Singer Chris Brown is being investigated for malfeasance battery and theft at a Las Vegas hotel room in an alleged incident that occurred after a woman tried to take his photo, police said Saturday.

Brown, 26, has not been arrested but is considered a suspect, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release.

Police received a report of battery in a suite at Palms Casino Resort at about 10:20 a.m., police said.

According to the police, the victim was attending a party inside a hotel room where an altercation took place over a cell phone. The victim alleges that she was battered by Brown when she took out her cell phone to take a picture of the singer, who then proceeded to take her phone from her.

However, the statement released by Brown’s representative said, “the (victim’s) allegations are unequivocally untrue” and a possible motive for the accusation was retaliation since she had been removed from the private party due to her “disruptive and out of control” behavior.

“Her claim that she had her phone in her possession inside the after party and was able to take a photo causing an altercation with Chris Brown is a complete fabrication.”

Brown is in Las Vegas for the New Year’s weekend.
