DADELDHURA, Jan 9: Bhageswor Rural Municipality of Dadeldhura has announced ‘Dignified Chhaupadi Year-2075’ through its village assembly.
Amargadhi Chairperson Kaushila Bhatta shared that the campaign was put in place to end the practice of Chhaupadi – a tradition to seclude girls from a regular residence during menstruation.
The public awareness campaign has been initiated to abort social belief that the women should be banished from the usual residence during menstruation period to appease god.
“We have decided to axe local government’s services and facilities to the person/family if it was found that the girls during menstruation were denied of going to school or were kept in sheds during the period’, she added.Follow @gorkhapost
NBSM seals three petrol stations in Bara
KATHMANDU— The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology (NBSM) has sealed three petrol stations in Bara district over alleged sharp practices.
The petrol stations that faced action on the charges are Krishna Oil Store at Simrongadh, Sonu Oil Traders at Telkuwa and Aayush Oil Store at Kavigoth.
The petrol stations were found to have been dispensing little amount of petrol than that paid for during a monitoring by a Bureau team, said the Bureau’s Director General Bishwo Babu Pudasaini.Follow @gorkhapost
