Bhanu’s contribution to Nepali literature and language was incomparable : PM Deuba

KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has that Bhanu Bhakta Acharya’s contribution for the promotion of Nepali literature and language was incomparable.

Addressing a special function organised by the Bhanu Foundation in commemoration of the 204th Bhanu Jayanti, the birth anniversary of poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya in Kathmandu on Thursday, PM Deuba stressed on unity among all Nepali citizens for the protection of all languages, literature and culture existing in the country.

Deuba also mentioned that the role of language and literature is crucial for the prosperity of the nation.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the Adikavi by garlanding his statue. Prior to the function, a morning procession was held as an honour to the country’s pioneering poet.

Girl raped in Mahottari





GAUSHALA — A 13-year-old girl of Aurahi Municipality in Mahottari district has been raped on Sunday evening.

Police Inspector at Gaushala-based Area Police Office, Bhola Bhatta, said that two local youths — Rakesh Sada and Ritik Sada, both 15 years of age — allegedly raped the girl when she had gone to wash utensils at a nearby rivulet.

Police have arrested Ritik while Rakesh has been absconding after the incident.

Meanwhile, necessary investigation into the case is underway, said police.
