KATHMANDU — Nepal lost to Hong Kong by three wickets in the Asia Qualifiers played at UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia on Tuesday.
Chasing a 96-run target set by Nepal, Hong Kong was able to reach it in 32.3 overs losing seven wickets.
Nepali bowlers had bowled well defending the low total but a half century by Anshuman Rath, 52, dashed their hopes of a victory.
Earlier winning the toss and batting first, Nepal posted a total of 95 runs after its batting wilted miserably in the must-win match.
Sandeep Lamichhane took five wickets for Nepal. Two other wickets were taken by Basanta Regmi and Sagar Pun.
