ANFA announces Nepal squad for friendly football with Laos

KATHMANDU — The All Nepal Football Association has announced the final Nepal squad for an international football friendly with Laos scheduled for May 29  on Sunday.

Nepal head coach Gyotoku Koji made the selection of 20-member team, according to the national football governing body.

Anil Gurung has been made the skipper. Other members in the team are : Kiran Chemjong (Goalkeeper),Bikesh Kuthu (Goalkeeper),Rabin Shrestha(Defender), Ananta Tamang(Defender), Aditya Chaudhary(Defender),Devendra Tamang (Defender),Kamal Shrestha(Defender),Biraj Maharjan (Defender), Prakash Budhathoki (Midfielder),Sujal Shrestha (Midfielder),Heman Gurung  (Midfielder) Bikram Lama(Midfielder), Bishal Rai (Midfielder), Rajendra Rawal   (Midfielder), Anjan Bista (Midfielder),Jagajeet Shrestha (Midfielder), Bharat Khawas (Forward), Nawayug Shrestha (Forward),Anil Gurung (Forward) and Sunil Bal (Forward).

Earlier, ANFA had called 33 players for the national team training.

Nepal and Laos will take on each other on May 29 at Vientiane, Laos.

NC consults experts on govt’s policies and programs





KATHMANDU — The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has taken suggestions from experts regarding the government’s policies and programs.

A meeting of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party convened at the parliamentary party’s office in Singha Durbar today consulted with the economists and former bureaucrats on the policies and programs of the government.

The government presented its policies and programs for the fiscal year 2018/19 in the Federal Parliament on Monday.

Deliberations will be held on the policies and programs in the House of Representatives and the National Assembly from Wednesday.

NC leader Dilendra Prasad Badoo, talking to the National News Agency, RSS, said that the meeting reviewed the government’s policies and programs and also discussed on issues the party would speak on in parliament.

Before this, the Nepali Congress had decided to put its views in parliament by forming thematic committees.
