KATHMANDU — Nepal Police have captured 4 persons, members of an international racket, with 2.6 kg of cocaine.
Narcotics Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit arrested Nigerian, Venezuelan, Indian and Nepali nationals involved in smuggling cocaine into European countries via Nepal. Police also recovered Rs 1.3 million from their racket’s possession.
Nepali Dil Bahadur Tamang, Venezuelan Yamaris Kamrin, Indian Tohid Khan and Nigerian Mohamman Lamini were arrested, police sources said. The source added that the investigation has also found the involvement of a Chinese national in the racket.
Police said the Nigerian group spread in Peru, Brazil, Malaysia, Pakistan and India were involved in smuggling cocaine in Netherlands, among other European countries, making Nepal as a transit point.
PM congratulates Nepali national cricket team
KATHMANDU— Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated Nepali national cricket team for being able to clinch the International T20 series.
PM Oli in a tweet extended best wishes and congratulations saying he was very happy to know Nepal’s win over the UAE by 14 runs in the third match of the series.
Winning T20 series is another landmark success for Nepali cricket, he said, adding, “It is big achievement for Nepal’s cricket. I would like to heartily congratulate entire members of Nepali cricket squad”.
