CHITWAN — At least twenty six people were injured when a passenger bus collided with tipper at Ramnagar Jungle in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 in Chitwan district 9:30 today morning.
According to Chitwan District Police Office, Chitwan, the Gorkha-bound bus (Na 5 Kha 8694) coming from Narayangadh in Chitwan collided head on with tipper (Ba 3 Kha 9012) coming from the opposite direction.
Among the injured, seven were critical, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shiva Sharma Acharya, adding that all injured, including the drivers of bus, were receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
The driver of the tipper has been absconding following the incident and police are searching for him, DSP Acharya said.Follow @gorkhapost
Country marking today as Black Day
KATHMANDU- The country is marking today (December 16) as Black Day to protest the disposition of the first democratically elected government by the late former king Mahendra Shah on December 15, 1960.
Mahendra took charge of the state with the help of the then Royal Nepali Army and formulated the Panchayat System by overthrowing the elected government led by B.P. Koirala and dissolving the parliament.
