10 hurt in Morang jeep accident

MORANG — At least 10 people were injured when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Yangsila of Morang district on Tuesday morning.

The incident took place after the Bolero jeep (Me 1 Ja 1229) skidded off the road and fell some 100 metres down at around 10 am, according to police.

Among the injured, three persons are in critical condition, the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar informed.

Critically injuredJanuka Century, Karuna Lawati and Rajendra Limbu of Kurumba-1 are receiving treatment at the Birat Nursing Home, police said.

Ajay Century, Kusal Rai of Kurumba-1, Sumitra Rai of Sakphara, Ilam, Samata Tamang of Limba-8, Kamala Rai of Ibhang, Sanu Limbu of Damak, Jhapa, Chaitu Rajbansi of Dhulabari sustained minor injuries in the incident.

They are undergoing treatment at the Damak-based Namaste Hospital,Police informed.

PM congratulates Nepali national cricket team





KATHMANDU— Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated Nepali national cricket team for being able to clinch the International T20 series.

PM Oli in a tweet extended best wishes and congratulations saying he was very happy to know Nepal’s win over the UAE by 14 runs in the third match of the series.

Winning T20 series is another landmark success for Nepali cricket, he said, adding, “It is big achievement for Nepal’s cricket. I would like to heartily congratulate entire members of Nepali cricket squad”.
